9oz full-grain leather, the strongest layer of the hide and the only grade that develops a true patina. Our current supplier is Seidel, a North American tannery. Full-grain leather softens and darkens with use, unlike coated, split, or bonded bags which crack and peel over time.

A structured top flap folds over the main compartment and secures with a solid-brass closure pin. The pin is snug at first and loosens over the first week or two of daily use, after which it stays easy to open one-handed. We cut every Everyday Satchel from 9oz full-grain leather, the strongest layer of the hide. Our current supplier is Seidel, a North American tannery that supplies Popov with consistent, top-of-hide cuts.

Full-grain leather is the only grade that develops a true patina: scars, marbling, and subtle colour shifts that make each satchel one-of-a-kind.

Unlike coated, split, or bonded bags that crack and peel on a daily commute, this leather only looks better with age. A year into daily carry your satchel will be softer, darker, and broken in to the shape of your shoulder and the gear you carry.

The Everyday Satchel is not stitched. Every panel and every strap attachment point is secured with solid-brass rivets, set through 9oz full-grain leather for a permanent, load-bearing hold.

We chose rivets over stitching for this bag because the load path on a daily-carry satchel is heavy and unforgiving: a packed main compartment pulling on the strap points every time you pick it up. Stitching can loosen or pull under that kind of repeated load; solid-brass rivets cannot. There are no stitch lines to unravel, no threads to fray, no weak point waiting to open up a year in.

The rivet heads develop the same warm patina as the rest of the solid-brass hardware, so the construction stays visually consistent for the life of the bag. Every satchel is cut and assembled in our Nelson, British Columbia workshop.
