I KNOW Popov’s leather is of top notch quality because I bought the smaller tote before. I regretted not buying the Weekender because I usually carry a lot with me. The small tote is good for short trips out to a restaurant, for grocery shopping, going to the doctor, etc. However, a bigger tote is needed for a full day of activities. I could show you what I packed into this tote, and I still have room for at least a jacket and umbrella. A bonus is that an umbrella would fit in vertically at the side. In most of my other totes, one only goes in diagonally…or I carry it separately. The pocket inside is big. I have a medium bottle of hand lotion and 6 tubes of lipstick in it right now and it’s not even 1/5 full. I don’t stuff everything in 1 inner pocket, however. I like to be organized so I have 5 smaller pouches inside. I know where everything is. The outside pocket is also VERY big, bigger than on any of my other 30-40 purses. I thought I’d put my phone and keys there. But, I discovered it has a sturdy inside key clasp. My keys then will not scratch my phone. Yes, I’m crazy for purses and good leather. I only buy high quality. I discovered Popov accidentally when my son asked for a wallet as a gift and I bought my husband a belt and 2 wallets after that. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I’d like a 2nd pocket inside the interior, on the opposite side. It’s really 4 1/2 stars. Pockets help me organize. I know buyers who prefer fewer pockets because you get more free interior space. My 2 Popov totes have the longest straps of any of my other totes. My 2 other favorite companies have shorter straps, unless you want to pay extra for longer. Then, I have to add an adjustable fine made $75 embroidered cloth strap to carry crossbody. Crossbody can look awkward depending on what I’m wearing. This hangs securely from my shoulder and I can still reach the bottom of the bag in case I need to really hold on, like in a subway. I can also easily hold it closed at the top with my elbow against it. It even fits over ALL of my winter coats. That includes the heaviest leather, wool, and down filled puffy coats that exist. I live in the cold, snowy north, so this is important. With leather of this high quality, I’m sure it will get passed down to someone in the next generation. It’s that sturdily built. Get one!
